Pret A Manger announced its biggest-ever menu change, unveiling 20 new dishes that includes several vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options to appeal to a wide-range of diets.
It’s the first time the popular chain will sell sandwiches on gluten-free bread, something fans have long been asking for.
The new menu will appeal to the increasing number of vegans and vegetarians in the UK, with additions including a roasted mushroom and smashed avocado pot, dairy-free almond butter and berry bircher muesli and hummus and chipotle wrap.
Cashing in on what is probably the most-Instagrammed brunch dish of our times, the menu also features a smashed avocado on gluten-free bread option.
This will be one of the chain’s new open-faced sandwiches, with other flavours including chicken caesar and smashed avo and, for those with a sweet tooth, coconut and berries.
As for new meat options, there’s the ham, egg and beetroot salad and a chicken and smashed beets pot.
For sushi fans, the menu offers a poke-inspired smoked salmon and edamame dish, which comes with diced mango, pickled cabbage and carrot.
There are some sweet treats too, such as a brand new lemon and blueberry cheesecake pot and the “Mocha Pot”, which combines coconut yoghurt, chocolate, hazelnut sauce and organic espresso.
Pret’s head of food development, Hannah Dolan, said: “We’re so excited to launch our colourful new spring menu, our biggest change in our history, which is a result of listening to what our customers want.
“Our team of chefs have taken inspiration from all over the world for this new menu and have worked incredibly hard to perfect each and every ingredient. From flavoursome roasted mushrooms, to our own gluten-free bread, which we honestly believe is one of the best out there right now.”

Smashed avocado topped with chargrilled British chicken in a Caesar mayonnaise, shaved Italian cheese and a sprinkle of mustard cress.

Topped with Pret’s humous, red tapenade and basil leaves. Finished with chargrilled peppers, creamy diced feta cheese and a sprinkling of pine nuts.
Cali-Style Salmon Salad, £6.50
Pret’s brown rice and red quinoa is mixed with mango, mint and chilli paired with smashed avocado and topped with edamame beans. Finished with golden roast salmon topped with a sprinkle of coconut chips.

Cos lettuce topped with long-stem broccoli, sweet roasted mushrooms, black rice, edamame beans, pickled cabbage & carrot and sesame seeds. Served with a zingy green dressing.
Pret’s Greek Salad, £4.99 (Veggie)
Combines tomatoes and red peppers with crumbly, creamy feta cheese, cucumber, black Kalamata olives, pickled onions and fresh dill. Served with a pot of feta and oregano dressing.
Ham, Egg & Beets Salad, £5.50 (this salad will launch in shops in May)
This classic English-inspired salad has lightly dressed potatoes, pulled ham, sweet peas, roasted baby beets and a hard-boiled egg. Served with a pot of creamy feta and oregano dressing.

We’ve reimagined one of Pret’s favourite new salads to make it suitable for veggies. Crunchy green broccoli and pickled cabbage & carrot taste great with rich, roasted sesame mayonnaise. The salad is finished with Pret’s zingy green dressing.

Pret’s gluten-free granola is soaked with coconut yoghurt dairy alternative, shredded apple and almond butter then topped with Pret’s Five Berry Compote, more shredded apple and caramelised pecans.
Tropical Bircher, £2.99 (Vegan)
Overnight we soak our gluten-free granola with coconut yoghurt dairy alternative, mango & banana sunshine smoothie, passionfruit juice and shredded apple. In the morning it’s then topped with diced fresh mango and coconut chips.
